I’m not quite sure where the term shoot me an email came from.

Lachlan Patterson wrote a hilarious blog about the origin of the phrase. See it here. According to Lachlan, shoot me an email is a modern excuse for being horrifically forgetful. Shoot me an email forgetful isn’t the oops I forgot the milk forgetful, but it is the wow, whatever I am supposed to remember isn’t important enough for my vastly superior brain to even attempt to commit to my cerebral calendar. How dare you even assume that I’ll remember your insignificant fact long enough to scribble it onto a Post-It note kind of forgetful.

I completely agree with Mr. Patterson. I consider him an email genius- far ahead of his time. Since I like to pay attention to smart, clever, and rather cynical people [like myself, wink, wink], please feel free to CONTACT ME. Thank you.
